SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. -- Freshman midfielder Ryan Prosper (Herndon, VA/Herndon HS) scored at the 43:01 mark to break a 1-1 tie and lift Shepherd College to a 2-1 win over Columbia Union in men's soccer action on Sunday at Shepherd.
Prosper's tally's tally came on a feed from Chad Guthrie (Centreville, VA/Centreville HS). Guthrie scored Shepherd's other goal at the 34:00 mark on an assist from Bernard Walters (Kingston, Jamaica).
Sophomore Robert Pence (Woodbridge, VA)/Woodbridge HS) recorded five saves in goal for the Rams, while Columbia Union goalkeeper Tetteh Nettey registered seven saves.
Shepherd improves to 2-0, while Columbia Union falls to 0-1.
The Rams return to action on Wednesday when they travel to Marymount for a 7:00 p.m. matchup.
