RAMS FALL AT WESLEYAN

BUCKHANNON, W.Va. -- Lynell Ingram scored 27 points and grabbed 17 rebounds to lead West Virginia Wesleyan to a 94-83 win over Shepherd University in WVIAC men's basketball action at Wesleyan on Saturday.

Ingram hit on 12-of-18 shots from the floor and was 3-of-4 at the free throw line. Rocky Manchin added a double-double with 13 points and a game-high 14 assists. Brian Inge also poured in 13 points for the Bobcats.

Junior forward Danley Shank (Pond Bank, PA/Chambersburg HS) scored a game-high 28 points to pace the Rams. Shank hit on 10-of-19 shots from the floor and was 6-for-7 from the free throw line.

Junior forward Darren Stackhouse (Alexandria, VA/Garrett CC) added a double-double with career-high tying 26 points and 13 rebounds. Junior guard Chad Myers (Vinton, VA/Hargrave Military Academy) tossed in 13 points, while freshman guard Thomas Carr (Toledo, OH/Hargrave Military Academy) handed out a team-high six assists.

Shepherd falls to 12-15 overall, 10-8 in conference action, while West Virginia Wesleyan improves to 4-22, 4-14. Eighth-seeded Shepherd will host ninth-seeded WVU Tech on Tuesday at the Butcher Center at 7:30 p.m. in first round action of the WVIAC Tournament.
