SHEPHERD SINKS WESLEYAN, 90-76
SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. -- Junior forward Danley Shank (Pond Bank, PA/Chambersburg HS) scored a game-high 31 points to lead Shepherd University to a 90-76 win over West Virginia Wesleyan in WVIAC men's basketball action at Shepherd on Monday night.
Shank's 31-point effort tied his season-high mark set earlier in the season against Pfeiffer. Shank became the 34th player in program history to reach the 1,000 point plateau. He has 1,002 points for his a career.
Junior forward Darren Stackhouse (Alexandria, VA/Garrett CC) added 14 points and eight rebounds, while junior guard Chad Myers (Vinton, VA/Hargrave Military Academy) and freshman guard Thomas Carr (Toledo, OH/ Hargrave Military Academy) each had 11 points. Senior guard Ron Rheinhardt (Bowie, MD/Archbishop Carroll HS) added 10 points, while sophomore guard Yves Moliva (Cameroon/Southeast (NE) CC) hauled down a game and career-high 13 rebounds.
Jelani Watson scored 23 points to lead the Bobcats. Lynell Ingram added 16 points and a team-high 10 rebounds, while Rocky Manchin added 10 points off the bench.
Shepherd improves to 11-13 overall, 9-6 in conference action, while West Virginia Wesleyan falls to 3-19, 3-11. The Rams return to action on Thursday when they host Glenville State for an 8:00 p.m. contest.
