SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. -- Damien Jackson scored a game-high 20 points to lead West Virginia Wesleyan to a 68-56 win over Shepherd College in WVIAC men's basketball action on Saturday. The win clinched the WVIAC regular season title for the Bobcats.
Aswan Morris added 15 points, while Jamar Thompkins posted a double-double with 10 points and a game-high 15 rebounds. Also in double figures for the Bobcats was Richard Lindsey with 12 points.
Ryan Jones (Banneker/Washington, DC) scored 18 points and grabbed six rebounds to lead the Rams. Keith Davis (Berkeley Springs (Mercersburg Academy)/Berkeley Springs, WV) added 13 points and six rebounds, while Kevin Newsome (Archbishop Carroll/Washington, DC) had a game-highs of seven assists and five steals to go along with six rebounds.
Shepherd falls to 10-16, 7-11 in conference action, while West Virginia Wesleyan improves to 20-6, 15-3. The Rams await word on their road matchup in first round action of the WVIAC Tournament on Tuesday night. Action will begin at 7:30 p.m.
