SHEPHERD FALLS TO WEST CHESTER

SHEPHERDSTOWN, WV -- Matt Kurtz scored a game-high 23 points to lead West Chester University to a 73-60 win over Shepherd University in men's basketball action at West Chester on Saturday.

Steve Fattori added 17 points for the Golden Rams. Brandon Long was also in double figures with 10 points.

Junior forward Danley Shank (Pond Bank, PA/Chambersburg, PA) led the Rams with 12 points. Junior guard Chad Myers (Vinton, VA/ Hargrave Military Academy) added 11 points and dished out a game-high four assists, while junior forward Darren Stackhouse (Alexandria, VA/Garrett CC) had nine points and grabbed a game-high 12 rebounds.

Shepherd trailed by only two points (31-29) at the half, but West Chester pulled away in the second half for the 13-point victory.

The Rams fall to 2-2, while West Chester improves to 4-0. Shepherd remains on the road to face Kutztown University on Monday for a 7:00 p.m. contest.
