MCKIE LIFTS SALEM PAST SHEPHERD

SHEPHERDSTOWN, WV -- Shaun McKie hit a three-pointer with 1:22 left in the game to lift Salem International to a 75-74 win over Shepherd College in WVIAC men's basketball action at Shepherd on Thursday night.

Shepherd missed a pair of three-pointers in the game's final minute.

McKie led the Tigers with 16 points. Also in double figures for the Tigers were Rodney Willis (13 points), Phil McKnight (12), Jon Wilburn (11) and Stanley Milien (10).

Danley Shank (Chambersburg, PA/Chambersburg HS) scored a game-high 21 points on a 7-of-12 performance from the floor with a 5-for-5 effort at the free throw line. Mark Jennings (Glen Burnie, MD/North County HS/ Hagerstown CC) added 18 points. Ross Mitchell (Yorktown, VA/York HS) had 11 points and a game-high five assists, while Esosa Imoisili (Ellicott City, MD/Centennial HS/Howard CC) contributed eight points, eight rebounds, and two blocked shots.

Shepherd falls to 5-6 overall, 2-2 in conference play, while Salem International improves to 5-8, 3-1. The Rams will be back in action on Saturday when Fairmont State comes calling to the Butcher Athletic Center for a 2:00 p.m. contest.
