SHIPPENSBURG RALLIES PAST SHEPHERD
SHIPPENSBURG, PA -- David Levetter scored a game-high 19 points to help Shippensburg University rally past Shepherd College with a 79-72 win in men's basketball action on Tuesday night at Shippensburg.
Shepherd held the lead throughout the game until the Red Raiders tied the game at 67-67 on a field goal by Charles Jones with 3:25 remaining. Shippensburg took the lead for good at 71-70 on a free throw by Jones with 2:06 left in the game.
Jones added 18 points, Chuck Davis had 15, and Todd Johnson had 10 for the Red Raiders.
Shepherd was led by Mark Jennings (Glen Burnie, MD/North County HS/Hagerstown CC) with 17 points. Mark Bressan (Charlottesville, VA/Albemarle HS/Marymount) added 15 points in his first start as a Ram and Chad Myers (Vinton, VA/Hargrave Military Academy) added 10 points off the bench. Danley Shank (Chambersburg, PA/ Chambersburg HS) grabbed a team-high seven rebounds.
Shepherd drops to 1-3 on the season, while Shippensburg improves to 3-1.
The Rams return to action on December 5 when they travel to face Bentley in first round action of the East Stroudsburg Tournament.
