SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. -- Ryan Jones (Banneker/Washington, DC) scored 22 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to lead Shepherd College to a 77-63 win over Ohio Valley in WVIAC men's basketball action on Thursday night at the Butcher Athletic Center.
Jones hit on 8-of-12 shot from the floor and was 6-of-6 from the free throw line. He also had three blocks, three steals, and two assists. Demond Tapscott (Fauquier/Warrenton, VA) added 18 points, while Matt Slaninka (DeMatha (University of Maryland)/Hyattsville, MD) came off the bench to record eight points, three rebounds, and two blocks in 12 minutes.
Brian Woodard scored 12 points and Jason Read added 11 to lead the Fighting Scots.
Shepherd improves to 8-10, 6-6 in conference action, while Ohio Valley falls to 2-16, 0-10. The Rams will host Glenville on Saturday. Tipoff is slated for 4:00 p.m.
