SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. -- Charles Holliday scored a game-high 17 points, including a pair of free throws with 18 seconds left in the game, to lift Newport News Apprentice to 51-50 win over Shepherd College in men's basketball action at the Butcher Athletic Center on Wednesday night.

Tevon Raikes added 11 points and Reggie Proctor grabbed a game-high nine rebounds for the Builders.

Kevin Newsome (Archbishop Carroll/Washington, DC) led Shepherd with 12 points. Mark Jennings (North County (Hagerstown CC)/Glen Burnie, MD) added 11 points and a team-high eight rebounds.

Shepherd falls to 4-5, while the Builders improve to 7-7. The Rams return to action on Saturday when they host Wheeling Jesuit at 4:00 p.m.
