SHEPHERD HANDLES HOOD

SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. -- Chad Myers (Vinton, VA/Hargrave Military Academy) came off the bench to score a game-high 34 points to lead Shepherd College to a 95-71 win over Hood College in men's basketball action on Bob Starkey Day at the Butcher Athletic Center on Saturday afternoon.

Myers connected on 13-of-15 shots, including 6-of-8 from three-point range.

Brady Catlett (Hedgesville, WV/Hedgesville HS/New Hampshire) added 17 points and 10 rebounds, while Mark Jennings (Glen Burnie, MD/North County HS/ Hagerstown CC) poured in 15 points and also grabbed 10 boards.

Santo Provenzano scored 20 points to lead the Blazers. Pete Colwell added 14, while Sean Robine had 12.

Shepherd improves to 3-4, while Hood drops to 2-2. The Rams return to action on January 3 when they host Davis & Elkins in the conference opener at 4:00 p.m.
