JENNINGS LEADS RAMS PAST GLENVILLE

SHEPHERDSTOWN, WV --Mark Jennings (Glen Burnie, MD/North County HS/Hagerstown CC) scored a game-high 31 points to lead Shepherd College to a 95-86 win over Glenville State in WVIAC men's basketball action at the Butcher Athletic Center on Saturday night.

Jennings hit on 11-of-14 shots and was 7-for-7 from the free throw line.

Danley Shank (Chambersburg, PA/Chambersburg HS) recorded a double-double with 19 points and 10 rebounds. He also tied Ross Mitchell (Yorktown, VA/ York HS) for team-high assist honors with five. Chad Myers (Vinton, VA/Hargrave Military Academy) provided spark off the bench with 17 points. Brady Catlett (Hedgesville, WV/Hedgesville HS/New Hampshire) added 11 points and seven rebounds, while Matt Slaninka (Olney, MD/ DeMatha HS/Maryland) came off the bench to score eight points and grab six rebounds.

Anthony McGeathey scored a team-high 27 points to lead the Pioneers. Briant Taylor added 17 points, Jermaine Higginbotham had 14 and Jonathan Burge tossed in 13. Andrew Harding had 10 to go along with seven assists. Higginbotham also hauled down a game-high 13 rebounds.

Shepherd improves to 11-9 overall, 8-5 in conference play, while Glenville falls to 7-13, 5-6. The Rams will be back in action on Monday when they host Pitt-Johnstown for a 7:00 p.m. contest.
