FAIRMONT, W.Va. -- George Bullock scored a game-high 21 points to lead Fairmont State to a 78-62 win over Shepherd College in first round action men's basketball action of the WVIAC Tournament in Fairmont.
Mario Finley added 18 points for the Falcons, while Derrell Turpin (13 points) and Chris Freeman (10) were also in double figures.
Ryan Jones (Banneker/Washington, DC) led the Rams with 15 points and eight rebounds. Demond Tapscott (Fauquier/Warrenton, VA) followed with 14 points, while Keith Davis (Berkeley Springs (Mercersburg Academy)/Berkeley Springs, WV) and Ron Rheinhardt (Archbishop Carroll/Bowie, MD) each edded 10. Kevin Newsome (Archbishop Carroll/Washington, DC) chipped in with seven points, six rebounds, five assists, and four steals.
The Rams complete their season with a 10-17 record, while Fairmont State moves to 17-10.
