BALANCED ATTACK LEADS SHEPHERD PAST SENATORS

ELKINS, W.Va. -- Shepherd College used a balanced attack to gain a 99-85 win over Davis & Elkins in WVIAC men's basketball action at Memorial Gymnasium on Saturday.

Danley Shank (Chambersburg, PA/Chambersburg HS) led the Rams with a game-high 25 points. He hit on 9-of-12 shots from the floor and was 6-of-6 from the charity stripe.

Mark Jennings (Glen Burnie, MD/North County HS/Hagerstown CC) connected on 8-of-10 shots and added 21 points, while Chad Myers (Vinton, VA/Hargrave Military Academy) drained 7-of-10 shots, including 4-of-6 from three-point range and also had 21. Brady Catlett (Hedgesville, WV/Hedgesville HS/New Hampshire) added 11 points and eight rebounds, while Esosa Imoisili (Ellicott City, MD/Centennial HS/ Howard CC) grabbed a game-high nine rebounds.

Ellis Hopkins scored 24 points to lead the Senators. Also in double figures for the Senators were Pierre Lacey (13 points ), Adam Wildasin (12), Travis Storm (12), and Chris Sutton (10).

Shepherd shot a scorching 69 percent (20-29) from the floor in the first half to a take a 57-42 lead at the half and cruised to an easy victory.

Shepherd improves to 13-9 overall, 9-5 in conference action, while Davis & Elkins falls to 3-20, 2-12. The Rams return to action on Monday when they travel to West Virginia Wesleyan for an 8:00 p.m. contest.
