SHEPHERD DOWNS DAVIS AND ELKINS IN CONFERENCE OPENER

ELKINS, WV -- Junior forward Danley Shank (Pond Bank, PA/ Chambersburg HS) scored 26 points and grabbed 11 rebounds to lead Shepherd University to an 82-67 win over Davis and Elkins in WVIAC men's basketball action at Elkins on Saturday.

Shank connected on 11-of-15 shots for the Rams. Junior forward Darren Stackhouse (Alexandria, VA/Garrett CC) added 23 points and eight rebounds, while junior center Ryan Peterson (Columbia, MO/North Central Missouri) hit on 9-of-11 shots for 19 points and also hauled down seven rebounds. Freshman guard Thomas Carr (Toledo, OH/Hargrave Military Academy) dealt out a game-high six assists.

Travis Storm and Bobby Alexander each had 12 points to pace the Senators.

Shepherd improves to 3-4, 1-0 in WVIAC play, while the Senators fall to 2-6, 0-3. The Rams return to action on December 15 when they travel to Mercyhurst for a 7:00 p.m. contest.
