SHEPHERD RUNS PAST SENATORS

SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. -- Danley Shank (Chambersburg, PA/Chambersburg HS) poured in a game-high 28 points to lead Shepherd College to a 102-76 win over Davis and Elkins College in men's basketball action at the Butcher Athletic Center on Saturday afternoon.

Shank connected on 9-of-13 shots from the floor, including 4-of-5 three-pointers.

Mark Jennings (Glen Burnie, MD/North County HS/Hagerstown CC) scored 22 of his 24 points in the first half to give the Rams a 59-23 lead at the break. Jennings also grabbed a team-high nine rebounds. Jaakko Koivula (Vantaa, Finland/Walshingham Academy/Bellarmine) and Esosa Imoisili (Ellicott City, MD/Centennial/Howard CC/Henderson State) were also in double figures with 11 points each.

Ellis Hopkins had 25 points to lead the Senators. Chris Sutton aaded 15 points, while Matt Towell grabbed a game-high 10 rebounds.

Shepherd improves to 4-4, 1-0 in WVIAC action, while Davis & Elkins drops to 1-9, 0-3. The Rams return to action next Saturday when they travel to Wheeling Jesuit for a 4:00 p.m. contest.

Chad Myers came off the bench to score seven points for the Rams against Davis & Elkins.
