SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. -- Demond Tapscott (Fauquier/Warrenton, VA) scored a career-high 32 points to lead the Rams to a 74-64 win over Concord in WVIAC men's basketball action on Thursday night at the Butcher Athletic Center.

Tapscott set a new Shepherd single-game record with eight three-pointers, eclipsing the old mark of seven shared by Bobby Chuey (1989), Ben Stephens (1991), and Jimmy Coyle (1995). He connected on 12-of-20 shots, including 8-of-12 for beyond the arc. Phil Stewart (The Heights School/New Carrollton, MD) added 10 points and six rebounds, while Keith Davis (Berkeley Springs (Mercersburg Academy)/Berkeley Springs, WV) tossed in eight points and grabbed a team-high seven rebounds. Kevin Newsome (Archbishop Carroll/Washington, DC) recorded a game-high 10 assists to go along with four points and three steals.

Brian Atkins had 16 points and nine rebounds to lead Concord.

Shepherd improves to 7-9, 5-5 in conference action, while Concord falls to 7-10, 4-5. The Rams return to action on Monday to when they travel to West Virginia State for a 7:30 p.m. contest.
