SHEPHERD DOWNS BLUEFIELD STATE

SHEPHERDSTOWN, WV -- Danley Shank (Chambersburg, PA/Chambersburg HS) scored 24 points and grabbed 12 rebounds to lead Shepherd College to a 90-71 win over Bluefield State in WVIAC men's basketball action at Shepherd on Thursday night.

Shank hit on 10-of-13 shots and was 4-for-4 at the free throw line.

Brady Catlett (Hedgesville, WV/Hedgesville HS/ New Hampshire) added 17 points, 11 boards, and four assists, while Mark Jennings (Glen Burnie, MD/North County HS/Hagerstown CC) contributed 17 points, eight rebounds, and four assists. Esosa Imoisili (Ellicott City, MD/Centennial/Howard CC) (11 points) and Chad Myers (Vinton, VA/Hargrave Military Academy) (10) were also in double figures, while Ross Mitchell (Yorktown, VA/York HS) dished out a game-high nine assists.

Jerod Patterson scored 18 points to lead the Big Blues. Marcus Clements had 13 points, while Chawn Martin added 12 points and 12 rebounds.

Shepherd improves to 9-7 overall, 6-3 in conference play, while Bluefield State falls to 2-15, 2-6. The Rams will be back in action on Saturday when they host Concord for a 4:00 p.m. conference contest.
