BOWIE STATE DEFEATS SHEPHERD

SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. -- Tim Washington scored a game-high 25 points to lead Bowie State University to an 85-66 win over Shepherd College in men's basketball action at the Butcher Athletic Center on Saturday afternoon.
Washington hit on 10-of-11 shots for the Bulldogs. Jon Smith added a double-double with 11 points and a game-high 11 rebounds while Stephen Moss-Kelley added 15 points. Omarr Smith was also in double figures with 10 points.
Ron Rheinhardt (Archbishop Carroll/Bowie, MD) led the Rams with 12 points. Mark Jennings (North County (HCC)/Glen Burnie, MD) added 11 points and tied Keith Fanjoy (Hammond (Howard CC)/Columbia, MD) for team-high rebounding honors with seven boards. Dorian Sims (Reading Central Catholic/Reading, PA) added 10 points and six rebounds.Shepherd falls to 3-4, while Bowie State improves to 7-1. The Rams return to action on January 4 when they travel to Davis & Elkins for a 4:00 p.m. contest.
