BOWIE, Md. -- Tim Washington scored 21 points to lead Bowie State University to a 98-85 win over Shepherd College in men's basketball action at Bowie State on Saturday afternoon.
The Bulldogs used a balanced attack in the victory as four other players were in double figures. Hasheem Alexander scored 17 points, Cornelius McMurray added 13, while Stephen Moss-Kelley and Jamal Shivers each added 11. Moss-Kelley also hauled down a game-high 10 rebounds.
Demond Tapscott (Fauquier (Belmont Abbey)/Warrenton, VA) scored a game-high 23 points to lead Shepherd. Ryan Jones (Banneker/Washington, DC) poured in 14 points on a 7-of-11 shooting effort. Carlton Talley (H.D. Woodson/Washington, DC) added 12 points, while Keith Davis (Berkeley Springs (Mercersburg Academy)/Berkeley Springs, WV) also hit for double digits with 11. Tapscott and Talley led the Rams in rebounding with nine apiece.
The Rams fall to 3-4, while the Bowie State improves to 6-2. The Rams return to action on January 5 when they travel to Wheeling Jesuit for a 4:00 p.m. conference matchup.
