BLOOMSBURG, PA -- Mark Jennings (North County (Hagerstown CC)/Glen Burnie, MD) scored a career-high 28 points to lift Shepherd College to a 77-74 over Bloomsburg University in men's basketball action on Tuesday night at Nelson Field House. The win gives Shepherd head coach Ken Tyler his 100th career victory.
Jennings connected on 11-of-18 shots from the floor and was a perfect 5-for-5 from the free throw line. He scored 16 points in the first half to help Shepherd gain a 36-28 advantage at the break.
Keith Fanjoy (Hammond (Howard CC)/Columbia, MD) hit on 6-of-7 shots and 4-of-5 free throws for 16 points.Keith Davis (Berkeley Springs (Mercersburg Academy)/Berkeley Springs, WV) was also in double figures with 11 points and grabbed a team-high seven rebounds. Kevin Newsome (Archbishop Carroll/Washington, DC) added a nice all-around effort with seven points, seven assists, four rebounds, and three steals.
Ryan Luckman scored 25 points and Tom Barlow added 24 to lead the Huskies. Luckman also hauled down a game-high eight rebounds.
Shepherd improves to 3-1 on the year, while Bloomsburg falls to 2-2. The Rams return to action on Saturday when they travel to face Division I Eastern Kentucky. Action begins at 7:30 p.m.
