SHEPHERD MEN'S BASKETBALL TO HOST TIP-OFF BANQUET

SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. -- The Shepherd University men's basketball program will hold a formal Tip-Off Banquet on Tuesday, October 11, 2005 at the Clarion Hotel and Conference Center in Shepherdstown. The special guest for the evening will be John Beilein, head coach of the West Virginia University men's basketball team.

Shepherd head coach Ken Tyler stated, "We are extremely excited about our inaugural Tip-Off Banquet, and are especially pleased that Coach Beilein has agreed to be a part of it. The whole Eastern Panhandle was swept up by the Mountaineers magical run to the Elite Eight, and it will be great to hear from one of the most respected coaches in the business. We are thrilled to partner with WVU basketball, and it will be an outstanding way to kick off the college basketball season!"

The banquet will begin at 6 p.m. with a cocktail hour followed by dinner at 7 p.m. Tickets are $60 per person and the proceeds will benefit the Shepherd University men's basketball program.
