SHEPHERD FALLS TO BATTLERS

SHEPHERDSTOWN, WV -- Mike Tucker scored a game-high 18 points to lead Alderson-Broaddus to a 70-41 win over Shepherd College in WVIAC men's basketball action on Thursday night.

Stephen Dye added 12 points and Tyrone Hammonds had 10. Josh Allen had nine points to go along with a game-high 10 rebounds.

Shepherd trailed only 31-22 at the half. The Battlers opened the second half on a 30-12 run to coast to an easy win.

Danley Shank (Chambersburg, PA/Chambersburg HS) scored 14 points to lead the Rams. Mark Jennings (Glen Burnie, MD/North County HS/Hagerstown CC) added 12 points and hauled down a team-high six rebounds. Esosa Imoisili (Ellicott City, MD/Centennial HS/ Howard CC) was 3-for-3 from the floor for six points and rejected three shots. He now has 71 blocked shots to break the single-season mark of 68 set by Diallo Brooks in 1994-95.

Shepherd falls to 15-10 overall, 11-6 in conference action, while Alderson-Broaddus improves to 20-6, 14-3. The Rams return to action on Saturday when they host West Virginia Wesleyan at 4:00 p.m.
