SHEPHERD DOWNED BY A-B PHILIPPI, WV -- Josh Allen scored 20 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to lead Alderson-Broaddus to an 84-63 win over Shepherd College in WVIAC men's basketball action at Alderson-Broaddus on Monday night. Shepherd shot 56.5 percent (13-23) from the floor in the first half and only trailed by a 35-33 margin at intermission. The Battlers shot 70.4 percent (19-27) in the second half and limited Shepherd to a 25 percent (8-25) to pull away for the win. Michael Tucker added 17 points and nine rebounds for the Battlers. Stephen Dye (15 points) and Derrick Bell (12) were also in double figures. Mark Jennings (Glen Burnie, MD/North County HS/Hagerstown CC) scored 19 points to lead Shepherd. Danley Shank (Chambersburg, PA/Chambersburg HS) added 18. Shepherd falls to 6-7 overall, 3-3 in conference play. The Rams will be back in action on Thursday when they travel to WVU-Tech for a 7:30 p.m. contest. |
