PHILIPPI, W.Va. -- Steven Dye scored a game-high 28 points to lead Alderson-Broaddus to a 90-81 win over Shepherd College in WVIAC men's basketball action on Thursday night.
Dye shot a perfect 9-for-9 from the floor, including a 6-for-6 performance from three point range. Josh Allen added 20 points, Rudy Wallace had 19, and Kevyn McBride was also in double figures with 16.
The Battlers shot nearly 60 percent (17-29) from three-point range en route to the nine-point triumph.
Demond Tapscott (Fauquier/Warrenton, VA) scored 27 points to lead the Rams. He hit on 9-of-22 shots, including 7-of-16 from beyond the arc. His 16 three-point attempts set a new Shepherd single game record.
Ryan Jones (Banneker/ Washington, DC) added 23 points on an 11-of-17 shooting effort. Keith Davis (Berkeley Springs (Mercersburg Academy)/Berkeley Springs, WV) added a double-double with 13 points and a game-high 10 rebounds, while Kevin Newsome (Archbishop Carroll/Washington, DC) dished out a game-high 10 assists.
Shepherd falls to 10-15, 7-10 in conference action, while Alderson-Broaddus improves to 18-7, 14-3. The Rams return to action when they host West Virginia Wesleyan in the regular season finale on Saturday at 4:00 p.m.
