Joining this year's staff is Rich Lyons. Lyons comes to Shepherd after a standout 36-year career as a high school coach. After graduating from Virginia Commonwealth University, Coach Lyons spent most of his career in Virginia, directing programs at Luray, Albermarle, and Jeb Stuart high schools. He spent last year as the head coach at Musselman High School in nearby Inwood.

Coach Lyons is widely known and respected throughout Virginia and West Virginia basketball circles.

At Shepherd, he will be involved in all aspects of the program, and work primarily with the shooting guards.
