RAMS FINISH 4TH AT SUSQUEHANNA FALL CLASSIC SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va -- Shooting a lackluster 309, (their current average for three rounds) the Rams placed 4th in the field of 19 teams at the SU Fall Classic. Leading the way was last year's "player of the year" David Bradshaw (Harpers Ferry, WV/ Jefferson HS) with an even par performance. David placed 3rd on the All-Tourney Team. Billy Clusman (Ijamsville, MD/Urbana HS) shot a 77, Chris Butcher (Inwood, WV/Musselman HS) an 81, and freshmen Bryan Snow (Columbia, MD/ Glenelg HS) and Spencer Byrd (Pocomoke, MD/Pocomoke HS) chipped in with scores of 80 each. The match was played just outside of Wilkes-Barre PA and a shotgun start was used to speed the play of the 19 team field. The Rams are now 29-12 after two matches this fall. Next match will be October 6-7 at Canaan State Park for the Central WVIAC Regional. Coach's Comments: "Fourth is fourth BUT at this time I would rather see all of our guys shooting in the 70's. There is no reason why David Bradshaw can play a course and post a 72 and the rest of these guys not at least be in the 70's. Billy did have a 77, but his game should be in the 75 and lower range. If we are to contend in the league we must be more COMPETITIVE! West Liberty won last week at Clarion and now is in the driver's seat for NCAA regional play. Concord posted a win at Parkersburg this month. The guys say they can compete at the top...it is now time to get the job done and stop talking until we have something to talk about!!!" |
