WEST LIBERTY WINS WVIAC SOUTHERN REGIONAL Courtesy of WVIAC Online PIPESTEM, W.Va --West Liberty State's three-over par 291 on Tuesday enabled the Hilltoppers to squeak out a one-stroke victory over Concord at the WVIAC Southern Region Golf Tournament. The Toppers ended the 36-hole event at one-over 577. Concord recorded a a 578, while Ohio Valley placed third at 591. OVC's Lucas Bristow was the individual medalist at three-under par 141, carding rounds of 69 and 72. Concord's Matt Horn finished a stroke back with a 142. Chris McCormick (Charleston) and David Lane (Concord) tied for third individually with one-under 143's. Nine players began the day under par, but the harsh windy and rainy conditionsreduced that number to four at tournament's end. Shepherd's Billy Clusman fired the day's low total with a 70. Tournament winner West Liberty State placed three golfers in the top nine. Blake Shamblin and Paul DiLorenzo tied for fifth at 144. Phillip Holley was ninth at145.
