SHEPHERD TO PARTICIPATE IN NCAA FOOTBALL'S TAKE A KID TO THE GAME

SHEPHERDSTOWN, W. Va. -- Shepherd University is inviting all area children to attend their upcoming game, Nov. 5 against the West Virginia State. Children have the opportunity to experience a college football game as Shepherd hosts NCAA Football's eighth annual Take A Kid to the Game (TAKG) program. Kids, ages seven-to-fourteen, can gain admission for $1.00 with the purchase of a full-priced adult ticket, to watch the Rams at Ram Stadium. Children six-and-under will be admitted free. Kickoff is slated for 1:00 p.m.

Shepherd University is one of more than 200 schools across the nation that are taking part in this campaign focused on allowing youth the opportunity to attend college football games. The Take A Kid to the Game program is entering into its tenth year in the promotion of collegiate athletics.

"We look forward to having kids from the community be apart of our game day experience and support NCAA Footballıs Take A Kid to the Game³ program," Karl Wolf, director of athletics at Shepherd said. "This event is a great opportunity for children to spend quality time with a parent or role model while learning about the fundamentals of college football in a family-oriented atmosphere that is NCAA Football."

Tickets for this special game can be purchased at the gate on game day.

The Take A Kid to the Game program is one of the national promotions of NCAA Football, the marketing arm of college football. NCAA Football represents a coalition of the National Collegiate Athletic Association, the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics and the Conference Commissioners Association.
