 PETERS EARNS WVIAC HONORS PRINCETON, WV -- Senior free safety Dan Peters (Cresson, PA/Penn Cambria) of the Shepherd University football team was named WVIAC Defensive Player of the Week by the West Virginia Conference this week. Peters recorded three interceptions to lead 15th-ranked Shepherd to a 14-0 win over Shippensburg. Peters' 22 career interceptions have moved him into a tie with Terry Corbin (1983-86) for fourth place on the Shepherd all-time interceptions list. The mark also places him in a tie for seventh place on the all-time WVIAC list. Peters also added two more pass breakups and a pair of tackles as the Rams held Shippensburg to 171 yards of total offense. |
