SPRINGIRTH NAMED WVIAC CO-OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK PRINCETON, WV -- Sophomore wide reciever Mark Springirth (Germantown, MD/Watkins Mills HS) was named WVIAC Co-Offensive Player of the Week for his outstanding play in Shepherd's 34-32 win over Shippensburg last Saturday. West Liberty running back Derrick Stickles shared the honors. Springirth had six receptions for 122 yards and one touchdown. He also recovered the onsides kick that clinched Shepherd's win over 2004 NCAA playoff participant Shippensburg. Springirth's 77-yard fourth quarter touchdown reception accounted for the game's winning points. |
