EDMONDSON, SCHMITT GAIN CONFERENCE HONORS PRINCETON, WV -- Junior inside linebacker Todd Edmondson (Finksburg, MD/Westminster HS) and junior kicker/punter Ricky Schmitt (Virginia Beach, VA/Salem HS) of the Shepherd University football team earned weekly honors from the West Virginia Conference. Edmondson was named Co-Defensive Player of the Week, while Schmitt grabbed Special Teams Player of the Week honors. Edmondson recorded eight tackles, including three for loss, and also forced a fumble in Shepherd's 24-6 victory against Virginia State. Schmitt connected on all three of his extra point attempts and added a 41-yard field goal in the Shepherd win. He also dropped three punts inside the VSU 20-yard line while averaging 37.4 yards per kick on five tries. |
