 PETERS GAINS DAKTRONICS ALL-AMERICAN HONORS SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. -- Junior free safety Dan Peters (Cresson, PA/Penn Cambria HS) of the Shepherd University football team has been selected to the Daktronics NCAA Division II All-America Football Team. He was a first team selection and the top vote-getter at safety. Peters led Division II with 12 interceptions. His efforts led the Rams to an 11-1 record and helped the Shepherd defense lead NCAA II in pass efficiency defense with an 85.0 mark. The 2005 WVIAC Defensive Player of the Year recorded 57 tackles (30 solo), three pass breakups, and a pair of fumble recoveries. Peters came up with a turnover in nine of the Rams' 12 contests, including a four-interception outing against West Liberty. Peters was also a first team selection on the 2005 CollegeSportsReport.com All-Division II Defensive Team.  The Daktronics All-American Team is selected by NCAA Division II sports information directors.
