![]() PETERS EARNS AP LITTLE ALL-AMERICAN HONORS SHEPHERDSTOWN, WV -- Junior free safety Dan Peters (Cresson, PA/Penn Cambria HS) of the Shepherd University football team was named to the Associated Press' Little All-American Football Team as a first team defensive back. Peters led the NCAA Division II ranks with 12 interceptions and was also named the WVIAC Defensive Player of the Year. Peters keyed a Shepherd defense that ranked among the national D-II leaders in five categories. He also added 57 tackles (30 solos), three pass breakups, and two fumble recoveries for the WVIAC champions. Peters is the first Ram to gain AP Little All-American honors since James Rooths earned first team honors in 2000. The AP Little All-America team is made up of players from NCAA Division II and III schools, as well as from the NAIA.
