COURTIEN GAINS NSCA ALL-AMERICAN HONORS

SHEPHERDSTOWN, W. Va. -- Senior offensive lineman Brian Courtien (Alexandria, VA/West Potomac HS) of the Shepherd University football team was recently selected by the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) as a 2005 NSCA All-American Athlete. He was nominated by Shepherd strength and conditioning coach Pete Yurish.

Courtien helped lead the Rams to the 2004 WVIAC crown as a First Team All-Conference selection. A three-year starter on the Ram offensive line, Courtien made the switch from guard to center as a senior.

The NSCA All-American Strength and Conditioning Athletes of the Year program recognizes those collegiate athletes whose athletic accomplishments, in the opinion of their strength coach, reflect their dedication to strength training and conditioning.

These athletes are also recognized for their academic and personal accomplishments and their integrity as student athletes. Power Systems, Inc. is the official sponsor of this program.
