RAMS COMPETE AT MOUNT ST. MARY'S MEET

EMMITSBURG, Md. -- The Shepherd College women's cross country team placed fifth and the men's team finished eighth at the 2002 Mount Invitational Meet in Emmitsburg, Maryland on Saturday. George Washington took the women's team crown, while Navy captured the men's team honors.

The Shepherd women's team was led by Carol Gill, who finished sixth in the race with a time of 19:44.35. She was followed by Lisa Bailey (26th, 20:53.62), Liz Lowrie (34th, 21:10.62), Katie Hembrook (47th, 21:52:08), and Karen Chaney (71st, 24:49.42).

The Ram men's team was led by Justin Faith with a 47th place finish at 28:59.21. Other Shepherd finishers were Danny Channell (50th, 29:09.25), Willie Spencer (53rd, 29:45.03), Chris McCully (61st, 30:40.43), Mike Brosenne (68th, 31:23.47), and Mike Lanning (75th, 33:50.84).
