SHEPHERD CROSS COUNTRY FARES WELL AT McDANIEL MEET

WESTMINSTER, Md. -- The Shepherd College cross country team fared well at the 2002 Terror Cross Country Challenge at McDaniel College in Westminster. The women's team placed third and the men's team finished in a tie for third place The Ram finished second in the co-ed division (combined scores of men's and women's teams) behind Mary Washington College. Mary Washington also won both the men's and women's team titles.

The Shepherd women's team was led by Carol Gill, who finished third in the race with a time of 20:06.13. She was followed by Liz Lowrie (9th, 20:56.58), Lisa Bailey (11th, 21:05.22), Katie Hembrook (17th, 21:32:79), Karen Chaney (53rd, 25:04.28), and Marsha Soergel (56th, 25:22.56).

The Ram men's team was led by Justin Faith with a sixth place finish at 28:20.92. Other Shepherd finishers were Danny Channell (18th, 29:57.52), Willie Spencer (23rd, 30:17.30), Chris McCully (27th, 30:40.39), Mike Brosenne (45th, 32:06.09), and Mike Lanning (52nd, 33:56.30).
