SHEPHERD WOMEN FINISH SIXTH AT MAROON INVITATIONAL

SALEM, Va. --The Shepherd College women's cross country team finished sixth out of 10 teams in the Maroon Invitational in Salem, Virginia hosted by Roanoke College. The Shepherd men competed with an incomplete team.

Washington & Lee captured the women's team title, while host Roanoke took the men's crown.

Sophomore Lindsay Johnson led the Ram women with a 40th place finish with a time of 23:39. She was followed by sophomore Meghan Dods (42nd, 23:56), freshman Kelly Hunsecker (49th, 24:28), sophomore Tonya Angle (50th, 24:30), freshman Rachel Brown (51st, 24:39), and senior Marsha Soergel (64th, 25:41).

The Ram men were led by freshman Daniel Rodgers. Rodgers finished in 19th place with a time of 30:19. Also finishing for the Rams were senior Danny Channell (30th, 31:14), freshman Chuck Moore (47th, 33:45), and freshman John Sine (56th, 36:45).
