Karen Burnette Sr. - P Yorktown, VA/Tabb High School 2006: Returns as a three-year starting pitcher. 2005: Appeared in 17 games with 15 starts. Posted a 10-5 record with a 2.09 ERA. Had six shutout wins and also recorded a save. Led team with 12 complete games. Registered 81 strikeouts in 90.1 innings. A WVIAC All-Tournament selection. 2004: Appeared in 16 games with 14 starts. Posted a 5-9 mark with a 2.11 ERA. Led team in strikeouts (79) and innings pitched (99.2). Tied for team lead in complete games with 12.
2003: Appeared in 13 games with 12 starts. Led team in wins (3), strikeouts (62) and innings pitched (90.2), and complete games (12). Her 3.47 ERA also topped the team. Prior to Shepherd: A 2003 graduate of Tabb High School where she played softball for Doug Roper. Two-year letterwinner in softball and basketball. Member of 2001 district champion basketball team. Earned Most Outstanding Player award as a senior in softball. Was Sportsmanship Award winner in basketball. Personal: Born 8-17-84. The daughter of Edward and Phyllis Burnette.
