SHEPHERDSTOWN, WV -- Shepherd College split with West Virginia Wesleyan in WVIAC baseball action on Tuesday at Fairfax Field. Shepherd earned a 7-3 win in game one, while the Bobcats rallied for a 10-8 win in the nightcap.
Mike Spry (Kent County/Chestertown, MD), Charlie Drummond (Strasburg/Strasburg, VA), and Brad McCullough (Susquehannock/New Freedom, PA) each had two hits to lead the Rams in game one.
Ram starter Mitch LeMasters (Toronto (Allegany College of Maryland)/Toronto, OH) worked six innings to improve to 2-3 on the year. Matt Surrency took the loss for Wesleyan.
Wesleyan smacked three hits and took advantage of two Ram errors to plate six runs in the fourth inning to rally past the Rams in the nightcap.
Joe Honce and Travis Stowers had two hits each to lead the Bobcats.
Jason Walck Waynesboro/Waynesboro, PA), Jon Serrano (Brooke Point/Stafford, VA), Spry, and McCullough each had a pair of hits for the Rams.
Art Yerbecic picked up the win for Wesleyan, while Jimmy Jackson (Old Mill/Millersville, MD) suffered the loss for Shepherd.
Shepherd moves to 14-14, 8-4 in WVIAC action, while West Virginia Wesleyan is now 18-18, 10-4. The Rams return to action on Friday when they host West Virginia State. Doubleheader action will begin at 1:00 p.m. at Fairfax Field.
