SHEPHERD'S BROWN EARNS NCBWA ALL-REGION HONORS

SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. -- Junior outfielder Collin Brown (Durham, NC/Southern Durham HS/NC State) of the Shepherd University baseball team was named to the National Collegiate Baseball Writers of America Division II North Atlantic Regional All-Star Team. Earlier this week Brown was chosen to the 2005 Rawlings/American Baseball Coaches Association North Atlantic All-Region Team.

Brown, a first team choice, led the Rams with a .471 batting average with a team-best 38 runs scored and 24 RBIs. Brown's .471 batting currently ranks him fourth nationally among the NCAA II leaders. He tied for the team lead in doubles (12) and triples (3), while also adding four round-trippers. Brown's .471 average set a new Ram single season mark, eclipsing the old mark of .458 set by Brett Bakner in 1993.

First team selections will be candidates for NCBWA All-America honors.
