HARJU, MCCORMICK EARN WVIAC HONORS

PRINCETON, WV -- Junior outfielder Ryan Harju (Purcellville, VA/ Loudoun Valley HS/Hagerstown CC) and junior pitcher Scott McCormick (Stephens City, VA/Sherando HS/Potomac State) were recently honored by the West Virginia Conference. Harju was named WVIAC Co-Baseball Player of the Week, while McCormick garnered WVIAC Baseball Co-Pitcher of the Week honors.

Harju led Shepherd to a three-game WVIAC North sweep of Salem International by batting .636 with a pair of home runs. The junior outfielder also contributed with his glove in Saturday's 6-4 win over the Tigers by throwing out a runner at the plate and making a ninth inning diving catch.

McCormick only allowed one earned run in 13 innings versus Wingate and Salem International. The Potomac State transfer tossed a complete-game, four-hit shutout of Salem International on Saturday.
