WEBB, ANDERSON GAIN CONFERENCE HONORS

PRINCETON, WV -- Sophomore first baseman/pitcher Dirk Webb (Hedgesville, WV/Hedgesville HS) and senior pitcher Chris Anderson (Middletown, MD/Middletown HS/Hagerstown CC) of the Shepherd University baseball team were recently honored by the West Virginia Conference. Webb was selected as WVIAC Player of the Week and Anderson gained WVIAC Pitcher of the Week honors.

Webb batted .533 to lead the Rams to a 3-1 week. He smashed two home runs, four doubles, and drove in eight runs as the Rams took 3-of-4 games from Mansfield. Webb also picked up a save as he set the Mountaineers down in order in the seventh inning in a 7-5 Shepherd win on Saturday.

Anderson tossed a complete game three-hitter in a 2-0 win over Mansfield on Friday. He fanned nine and improved to 2-0 on the year.
