SHEPHERD MOVES TO 6-6 WITH WIN OVER OSWEGO

SHEPHERDSTOWN, WV --Charlie Drummond (Strasburg, VA/Strasburg HS) launched a two-run homer in the bottom of the fifth inning to lift Shepherd College to a 2-0 win over SUNY-Oswego in baseball action at Fairfax Field on Monday.

Joe Cook (Leesburg, VA/Loudoun County HS) singled to right center with one out in the sixth and scored on Drummond's game-winning round-tripper.

Five Ram pitchers combined on the shutout win with Austin Bowie (Paeonian Springs, VA/Loudoun County HS) picking up his first win of the year. Drummond set the Lakers down in the ninth to gain the save. Oswego starter Adam Harendza suffered the loss.

Shane Wines (Front Royal, VA/Warren County HS) went 2-for-3 with a double to lead the Rams at the plate.

Matt Kimpland, Dan Vacco, and Jim Miner each had a pair of hits to lead the Lakers.

Shepherd improves to 6-6 on the year, while Oswego falls to 3-3. The Rams will return to action on Wednesday when they host Millersville for a 1:00 p.m. doubleheader.
