![]() RAMS GO TO 2-0 AT WVIAC TOURNAMENT PRINCETON, WV -- Shepherd University improved to 2-0 in the WVIAC Baseball Tournament with a 7-2 victory over Concord win on Saturday at Hunnicutt Field in Princeton. Concord grabbed a 2-0 lead in the second inning when Chris Bowers belted a two-homer to left field. Shepherd tied the game in the third when Jason Walck (Waynesboro, PA/Waynesboro HS) smacked a two-run single to plate Jimmy Jackson (Millersville, MD/Old Mill HS) and Tavis Laws (Stephens City, VA/Sherando HS/Eastern Mennonite). The Rams grabbed a 3-2 lead in the fifth when Shane Wines (Front Royal, VA/Warren County HS) tripled and scored on a sacrifice fly off the bat of Jackson. Shepherd put the game away with four runs in the seventh. A two-run double by Joe Cook (Leesburg, VA/Loudoun County HS) highlighted the scoring output. Laws and Wines led the Rams with two hits each. Wes Meeteer and Zach Graybill paced the Mountain Lions with two hits apiece. Brad McCullough (New Freedom, PA/Susquehannock HS) scattered nine hits to improve to 5-3 on the year. He fanned four and walked only two in the complete game win. Bubba Pulley (6-1) suffered his first loss of the year for Concord. Shepherd improves to 23-17 on the season, while Concord falls to 28-17. The Rams will face the winner of the Concord-West Virginia State game on Sunday.
