SHEPHERD BASEBALL DROPS 12-7 DECISION TO CONCORD
ATHENS, W.Va. -- Concord University used a 13-hit attack en route to a 12-7 win over Shepherd University in baseball action at Concord on Wednesday afternoon. The loss snapped Shepherd's 11-game winning streak.
A two-run double by senior outfielder Joe Cook (Leesburg, VA/Loudoun County HS) keyed a three-run second inning for the Rams.
Senior outfielder Collin Brown (Durham, NC/Southern Durham HS/NC State) led the Rams with two hits and a pair of runs scored. Junior outfielder John Hawse (Winchester, VA/James Wood HS/Potomac State) also added a pair of hits for the Rams.
Sophomore reliever Josh Bowers (Williamsport, MD/Williamsport HS) (2-1) took the loss for the Rams.
No further game details were available.
Shepherd drops to 18-6, while Concord improves to 7-10. The Rams return to action on Saturday when they host Fairmont State for a 1:00 p.m. conference doubleheader.
