WILSON, NC -- Scott McIver tossed a complete game four-hitter to lift Barton College to a 4-0 win over Shepherd College at the Barton Athletic Complex on Thursday.
Barton scored all four runs in the fifth inning. Brock Godwin and Chris Scott belted solo homers to highlight the inning.
Brad McCullough (Susquehannock/New Freedom, PA) belted a double, while Jason Walck (Waynesboro/Waynesboro, PA), Mike Spry (Kent County/Chestertown, MD), and Jon Serrano (Brooke Point/Stafford, VA) each added singles to account for the Shepherd hits.
Ram starter Mitch LeMasters (Toronto (Allegany College)/Toronto, OH) worked the first five innings and suffered the loss for the Rams. Jimmy Jackson (Old Mill/Millersville, MD) held the Bulldogs hitless over the final three innings.
Shepherd falls to 5-10 on the year, while Barton improves to 20-11. The Rams will travel to Southern Virginia on Friday with doubleheader action starting at 1:00 p.m.
