BROWN, McCORMICK GAIN NORTH ATLANTIC ALL-REGION HONORS

SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. -- Senior outfielder Collin Brown (Durham, NC/ Southern Durham HS) and senior pitcher Scott McCormick (Stephens City, VA/Sherando HS/ Potomac State) of the Shepherd University baseball were named to the 2006 American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) NCAA II All-North Atlantic Region Team.

Brown, a first team choice for the second consecutive year, led the Rams with a .465 batting average with a school record 86 hits in 185 at-bats. He added a school-record 69 runs scored and had 42 RBIs. Brown set a new school mark with by being hit-by-pitch 21 times and tied the Ram mark for most stolen bases in a season with 24. He also contributed 21 doubles, three triples, and eight home runs.

McCormick, a second team selection, posted an 8-1 mark on the mound for the Rams with a 2.44 ERA. He tied a school single season mark with 14 starts. McCormick fanned 29 while walking only 12 in a team-high 62.2 innings.

Shepherd finished the season with a 34-18 mark. The Rams made their third NCAA II Regional appearance (1997, 2002) under head coach Wayne Riser this year.
